A small win after a tough month

Hello Reader,

This morning, I got on the scale feeling nervous: you know that feeling when you’d rather not know?

To my relief, the number hadn’t changed. Honestly, I expected it to go up.

Ouf. I can breathe again.

After a month of living between two cities and 12 nights in hotel rooms, this feels like a small win.

What September taught me

When I’m exhausted, food becomes the easiest way to feel better...

During the week, things were fine. Even with insomnia and constipation, I ate three balanced hotel meals a day and stayed steady.

The overeating happened on weekends, when I got back home to Dubai. I wasn’t actually hungry, I was just tired.

The past ten days at home have been a proper reset:

✅ Sleeping properly again

✅ Digestion and elimination back to normal

✅ Cooking and freezing balanced meals

✅ Eating four home-cooked meals a day: simple, structured, and satisfying

Nothing fancy. Just getting back to basics.

My takeaway for October

A tired body will always win against a determined mind.

No amount of food discipline can replace rest and preparation.

I’m glad I have meals ready in the freezer for when I’m back from travel. It’s one less decision to make when I’m tired.

Your turn

If you find yourself overeating, try asking:

Am I actually hungry, or just tired or tense?

I’d really love to hear from you:

When do you find it hardest to stay balanced with food?

Evenings? Weekends? After a long day?

I’m listening, always. Reply if you want to share what’s on your mind.

With care,

Rouba

P.S. Be kind to yourself if you’re tired. Rest is part of healing your relationship with food.

Hello hello, It’s been a while since you last heard from me. As January quietly comes to an end, I wanted to check back in. A new year often brings fresh intentions. But sometimes, the body has its own plans. When the body speaks loud My return to you comes after a rough patch, one where my relationship with food was tested in ways I hadn’t experienced in a long time. It began with shoulder and back pain that kept getting louder. At first, there was denial. This is nothing. It will pass. But...

Dear friends, You may have noticed I’ve been quiet lately. The past few months were intense: a two-month consulting project, 12 two-day workshops, 250 people, and a return to the corporate world after seven years as a solo entrepreneur. It was everything I was craving: connection, challenge, immersion, and the energy of a team. But my body… my body felt like it was screaming. Sleepless nights, racing thoughts, back and shoulder pain, constipation. My nervous system was running overtime. I...

Hello Reader, Sometimes life hits all at once: messy, overwhelming, unavoidable Last week, i snapped at my mom. She hanged up on me. And I was left sitting there, heart pounding and eyes burning, feeling everything at once. Moments like these used to send me straight to food, to quiet the pain inside. But that quick relief comes at a cost: guilt, shame, indigestion, heaviness… And that voice whispering: “I did it again.” The shift that changed everything The next day, while commuting from...
